But since I’m obviously not wanted here I’ll just leave.”
“Babe, please don’t go it’s not like that at all.” Jen pulled an enraged Lauren in for a hug and a kiss. “You know I love you and you’re always welcome here. I totally forgot about a workout this morning, the girls and I didn’t talk about going to the gym. But now that you’re here and I’m awake why don’t I help you in the kitchen?”
“Fine, but this isn’t over.”
They started there work down in the kitchen and were slowly joined by Cory, Scottie and the other girls on the team. The last being Peyton. The kitchen was filled with laughter, music and yummy smells. The food was eaten almost right out of the pan. Lauren and Jen couldn’t make the waffles, bacon, and eggs fast enough. They finally got to sit down at the dinning table. Where there were almost 20 chairs circled around it. Jen and Lauren managed to find one to share.
“So are you girls going to do your weekly Saturday morning workout?” Cory asked excitedly. Normally he helped each girl work their problem areas and do everything correctly.
A few nods were followed by some shrugs and some groans.
“How about whoever wants to workout we’ll do a Saturday night workout instead. Anyone who wants to can show up and if you don’t we won’t hold it against you.” Jen suggested.
The girls nodded in agreement. Breakfast finished and some Saturday morning T.V shows were flipped on. Some girls left others just hung out for awhile. Eventually everyone left but Peyton and Lauren.
“Well, I better be going.” Peyton handed Jen a piece of paper. “Call me later.”
“Yeh, sure. Talk to you later.” Jen opened the piece of paper and looked at the number, entering it into her cell phone.
Lauren waited until Peyton was gone. “You’re not honestly going to call her, just wait until Monday to talk to her. I don’t like the vibe I get when you two are together. I can tell you like her. I can see why but still that doesn’t change the fact I don’t like you two around each other.”
“Babe, she’s just a friend, you know I love you. Sure she’s pretty but you are beautiful. Just forget about her okay? Why don’t we go swimming?”
No more was said about Peyton as the two went swimming and spent the rest of the day together until Lauren finally had to go to work. All day Jen couldn’t get Peyton off her mind. When Lauren left she picked up the phone several times dialing Peyton’s number and then hanging up.
“Either call her or don’t. You’re driving me and your dad crazy!” Cory said.
“How’d you know it was a girl pa?”
“With you it’s always a girl, that and I saw you and Lauren fighting earlier and the way she kept looking at Peyton and I know Peyton slept up in your bed last night. It’s not hard to put the pieces together. You like her, Lauren doesn’t. I say do what you’re heart is telling you to.”
“That’s just scary how you know everything, and what I was going to ask.”
“You’re my daughter; it’s my job to know these things. Go call Peyton invite her over, Lauren can’t control who you’re friends are.”
Jen gave her pa a hug. “Thanks.”
Within the hour Peyton was over at the house once again. They sat in the media room watching a movie until it was time to go workout. They gathered at the local gym with Cory it started with a run around town then back to the gym where they all worked on different things and Cory went around assisting each. It ended with a run. Peyton and Jen leading the pack.
“Jen, can I ask you something?”
“Anything.”
“How did you know? Like how did you know that you loved Lauren when you first met her? How did you know you were a lesbian?”
“It’s something I just feel inside, I always wanted to be near Lauren and when I wasn’t near her I couldn’t stop thinking about her. She was always in my mind. We had fun together and it slowly progressed. I knew I was gay because every time the other girls started talking about how hot all the guys were; I just wanted to shake them and tell them that they are the hot ones, and that none of the guys were hot. When I fell asleep at night I dreamed about kissing girls and having sex with girls, not boys. Why?”
“I was just curious. Thanks.”
“No problem, anything else?”
“Do you thing Lauren is THE ONE. Like the one you’ll end up marrying and being with the rest of your life?”
“I don’t know. I want to say yes but anything is possible and after the last few days saying that she is my forever is very hard.”
Peyton and Jen made it back to the gym first, sweaty and tired. They went into the change room to shower and get changed.
“Jen, I think that maybe I’m gay or like half gay.” Peyton said as she shampooed her hair. They were separated by a half wall. Jen shut off her water hair full of shampoo.
“You what?” Leaning against the wall.
“I think I might be bisexual.” Peyton turned off her water as well and leaned against the wall. “I don’t know but last night I felt something and I know you did to or you wouldn’t have called me back. I know Lauren told you not to but you did anyway. Why would you risk your relationship like that?” Peyton leaned in kissing Jen; neither of them broke it off until they heard people entering the change room. They quickly turned back on the showers finishing up.
“I gotta go; Lauren will be waiting for me at home.” She said to Peyton as she left the shower barely clean. She changed quickly and waved to the rest of the girls. She waited by the car for Cory who was out soon. “Come on what took you so long?
